Khenpo Karten Rinpoche will offer prayers at the ceremony which is part of the Thirteenth Annual Hiroshima-Nagasaki Remembrance Day. This beautiful and moving tradition honors those who perished in 1945 and reaffirms our commitment to world peace. Event is free. The Peace Lantern event is sponsored by several peace organizations in Monterey County and the Friends/Quakers of Monterey.

Schedule includes:

7:00pm: Lantern making and Taiko drumming
7:45pm: Music and messages of hope and peace
8:15pm: Launching of the peace lanterns
