June 21 is the Summer Solstice, the first day of Summer. On this day, Khenpo Karten Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist monk and the Spiritual Director of the Manjushri Dharma Center in Pacific Grove, will offer a Water Blessing Ceremony at Lovers’ Point Beach.

The blessing will honor the earth’s elements as we join in chanting a prayer for the earth’s protection. This is a powerful and poignant way to gather in community in celebration of the longest daylight time of the year and the recognition of the start of a new season.

Participants are invited to share in a group prayer for peace and for the protection of this fragile planet.

Copies of the peace prayer will be available. You are encouraged to bring fresh flower petals to contribute to this beautiful and moving ceremony.
