Following sitting meditation at Manjushri Dharma Center, Rinpoche invites all to carpool, bike or walk down to Asilomar State Beach where we learn and practice walking meditation.  In walking meditation, you direct your attention to the movement of your feet and legs, and the motion of your body as it advances.  You feel your feet on the ground, and arrive fully to the present moment, becoming aware of all bodily sensations.

After the walking meditation, participants are invited to bust out the beach blankets and some food for a beach “lucky pot!” (that is Rinpoche’s word for potluck)  Bring some food and drink for you (and a little to share), and we can eat together, play frizbee, and relax!  If it is overcast, we will plan to have a beach campfire.

Loose Timeline/Meet to Carpool:  After meditation ends, roughly 11:00am, we will gather at the Manjushri Dharma Center and carpool to the Asilomar Conference Grounds/Asilomar Beach.  We will plan to spend about 1 hour with learning and practicing walking meditation, then it’s a loose timeline for the rest of the afternoon–planning to wrap up about 2pm.

Parking at Asilomar:  Parking is free at the Asilomar Conference Grounds, or there is parking on the street on Sunset Blvd.
