Tashi Delek to all.
These photos were taken on 2/19/21, at an outdoor interfaith gathering at Lovers Point in Pacific Grove, California. Spiritual and religious representatives from many different traditions including Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and Hindu traditions gathered together and offered prayers for those who have passed away from COVID and for their families. There are 315 people who lost their lives in Monterey County and an American flag was stationed for each person.
I was the only Buddhist monk there, and I prayed for all those who have passed away and that the United States be blessed. It was a very beautiful ceremony and I am so happy to have had the opportunity to participate today. I wish that gatherings like this took place more often which echo the United States’ ideals of religious freedom, religious tolerance, and religious fellowship.
