THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!

I have to give my own appreciation here, as it was so wonderful!  A couple of people who volunteered in the garden had attended MDC Saturday meditation for the first time in-person, and jumped right in!  First time at the Center, and already helping so generously!   Special thanks to Ginger, who cared for the garden from 2020 and all during the pandemic–she came on that day, and it was her birthday!   Rinpoche played a Tibetan version of Happy Birthday for her (same tune, Tibetan words!), and gave her a beautiful kata.   Best quote of the day:  “I happen to have a blower in my car….”   Wow!   We didn’t even need to sweep!   With just a couple of hours, we accomplished weeding and trimming in the front, and the patio (which really needed it, but was above and beyond expectations!).     It was so much fun, a time to get to know each other and discuss our practice as we gave our efforts to make the Center a welcoming space for all.  We will definitely repeat it!   We are thinking of a monthly volunteer day after Saturday meditation and also there was a suggestion from Ginger:   Give an Offering of Weed!   (no not that kind, ha!)   If you can pull some weeds for 5 minutes before or after classes, that would help!  We will put a weed barrel out somewhere obvious–after we empty them from our fruitful day!  (Written by Rachel Christopherson, MDC Volunteer/Board President)
