Today is a very special day; not only is today Dakini Day, but also the date commemorating three very special events:
  • Today is the anniversary day of The Great Phagmo Drupa, the heart Son of Gampopa and root guru of the great Drikung Kyopa jigten sumgon;
  • Today celebrates the Parinirvana of Je Tsongkhapa, the famous Teacher and founder of the Gelug school;
  • and on this day in 1989, His Holiness the Dalai Lama was awarded the the Nobel Peace Prize “for advocating peaceful solutions based upon tolerance and mutual respect in order to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of his people.”
