When Buddha Shakyamuni left his palace as the young prince Siddhartha, he saw for the first time aging, sickness, and death.  All of this suffering had been hidden from him in his life of privilege.  He also saw a holy man, trying to free himself from the bondage of suffering.  The Buddhist pilgrimage group led by Rinpoche and Thay Kozen going to India and Nepal will make donations to an elder care facility, a facility that cares for orphans and sick children, and a hospice facility caring for the dying.   In addition, we will make a donation to a holy man, His Holiness the Dalai Lama.   If you would like to contribute dana, holy generosity wishing for all beings to find peace, you may do so by donating through the Mount Adams Buddhist Temple website.  Please specify in your donation that it is dana for the India trip (if not able to note in the donation process, please email Rachel at [email protected] and let her know your donation was made), and it will be allotted to those four causes, honoring the four sights that inspired Siddhartha to become the Buddha.
