ཕྱི་ཟླ་བརྒྱད་པའི་ཚེས་པ་ཉེར་བཞི་ཉེར་ལྔ་ཉེར་དྲུག་གསུམ་ལ་པོར་ལེན་ནུབ་བྱང་བོད་རིགས་ཚོགས་པས་གོ་སྒྲིག་འོག་བོད་ཁང་དུ་འཚོགས། སྔ་ལོའི་ཆོས་ཁྲིད་ཀུན་བཟང་བླ་མའི་ཞལ་ལུང་ལེགས་པར་གྲུབ་པ་མ་ཟད་འདི་ལོའི་དམིགས་བསལ་ཆོས་ཁྲིད་ལ་གནམ་ཆོས་འཕོ་བའི་ཁྲིད་སྦྱངས་སོགས་ཀྱང་བྱས། ངོས་ཀྱི་ཕྱི་རྒྱལ་བའི་སློབ་མ་འགའ་ཡང་མཉམ་ཞུགས་གནང་། ཉིན་ཐ་མ་གསུམ་ལ་ངོས་ཀྱི་བརྩེ་བའི་ཆོས་གྲོགས་བླ་མ་ཀོ་ཟེན་ལགས་ཀྱི་དགོན་པ Mount Adams Buddhist Temple ལ་སོང་ནས་འཕོ་བའི་ཁྲིད་སྦྱངས་དང་མདོར་ན་བདུན་སྔ་ཕྱི་གཉིས་བསྡོམས་པས་ཉིན་དྲུག་རིང་བདེ་ཆེན་ཞིང་སྒྲུབ་དང་ཚོགས་འཁོར་ཆོས་བཤད་སོགས་ལེགས་གྲུབ་བྱུང་། ང་ནི་བོད་རིགས་ཤིག་ཡིན་པའི་ཆ་ནས་མི་རིགས་འདི་རྣམས་ལ་ཆོས་ཀྱིས་ཕན་ཐོག་ཕྲན་བུ་རེ་བྱུང་ན་དེ་བས་འཚེངས། ལར་ནས་ཁོ་བོའི་རིགས་ཀྱི་བདག་པོ་སྐྱབས་མགོན་རྒྱལ་བའི་དབང་པོའི་ཉིས་སྟོང་ལྔ་ལོར་གུས་པའི་ཕྲག་པར་ཕྱག་གིས་བཅག་བཅག་གནང་བཞིན། “མ་འོངས་པར་ཁྱོད་རང་གིས་བོད་པ་ལ་རོགས་པ་བྱས་ན་ཡག་པོ་འདུག”ཅེས་བསླུ་མེད་རྡོ་རྗེའི་བཀའ་ལུང་ཟབ་མོ་སྤྱི་བོར་སྩལ་སོན་བྱུང་བས་དེ་ནས་བཟུང་སྟེ་བོད་རིགས་རྣམས་ལ་རང་ནུས་གང་ལྕོགས་རོགས་རམ་བྱས། མ་ཟད་ཚེ་ལྷག་ངོས་ཀྱང་ས་གནས་འདིར་གནས་སྤོ་བྱེད་ནས་ཆོས་དང་རིགས་གཞུང་སྐད་ཡིག་སོགས་མཉམ་སྤྱོད་བྱེད་ནས་བོད་རིགས་རྣམས་དང་ལྷན་སྐྱིད་སྡུག་མཉམ་མྱོང་བྱེད་འཆར་ཡོད།

Sunday 8/24 marked the conclusion of the 18th Annual Amitabha Dechen Shingdrup 2025 in Portland. We conducted prayers for the accomplishment of Sukhavati Amitabha Pureland, and special to this year was for the first time in Portland the transmission of the esoteric and profound practice of “phowa”, the transference of consciousness.
The retreat spanned over two weeks, with the first week taking place at the Northwest Tibetan Cultural Association in the city of Portland. The second weekend was held at the Mount Adams Buddhist Temple, also known as Trout Lake Abbey, in nearby Washington, which is the home of my Dharma brother Thay Kozen.
Many of the local Tibetan community were in attendance both weekends, with the number of attendees growing every year. Also, some of my Western students and friends from California and Washington also came for some of the weekends.
Those in attendance expressed their happiness and gratitude, and continually welcome me and invite me to stay with great love and devotion. I am very happy to do this, as this was one of the responsibilities entrusted to me by His Holiness the Dalai Lama: to minister to Tibetan diaspora communities in the West. Actually, I have a strong connection with the local community here and plan to one day call this area my home. I am always very happy to conduct the annual Dechen Shingdrup in Portland and am greatly happy to do so into the future.

On the Thursday night, at around 8pm after the main gompa was set up, Rinpoche led Chod practice–we practiced again on Friday night with the descendants of Lama Wangdu Rinpoche.   This video is a snippet of the Friday night Chod session.
