དགུན་ཆོས་ཤེས་རབ་སྙིང་པོའི་དཔེ་ཁྲིད་དང་།།
སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་ཀྱི་འདོན་སྒོམ་རྗེས་གནང་སོགས།།
ཐོས་བསམ་ཇི་སྙེད་བྱས་པའི་དགེ་བ་འདི།།
འཇིག་རྟེན་བདེ་སྐྱིད་ལྡན་པའི་རྒྱུ་རུ་བསྔོ།།
Over Valentine’s Day weekend, the MDC joyfully hosted our annual New Year’s Retreat at Wave Street Studios in Monterey, California. It was a deeply meaningful and inspiring gathering for our Sangha.
On the first day, Rinpoche bestowed a Chenrezig (Avalokiteśvara) jenang blessing empowerment, connecting students with the compassionate activity of the Bodhisattva and subsequent permission to practice. The following day, Rinpoche gave profound teachings on the Heart Sutra — “the Perfection of Wisdom” — illuminating the timeless dialogue between Chenrezig and Shariputra, spoken through the blessings of the Buddha.
On the final day, Rinpoche taught on selflessness and bodhicitta, guiding students into the heart of the Mahāyāna path. Participants received the Bodhisattva Vows, engaged in Butterlamp prayers, and offered heartfelt prayers for world peace.
It was a powerful and transformative retreat. Many attendees shared that they felt deeply blessed, enriched by the teachings, and profoundly grateful and happy for the opportunity to gather in practice.
The MDC extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this retreat possible — from preparation through completion — especially our devoted Sangha and Board, Lotsawa Jampa Tharcin (David Molk), the Wave Street Studios family, and all who attended and supported the event.
Finally, we offer homage and deepest gratitude to Rinpoche for his tireless dedication, profound wisdom, and immense generosity and blessings for the benefit of his students and all beings.
